Camilo del Río is a Chilean geographer, Master of Science in Geography and Geomatics. He works at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile on projects of applied geography and holds courses of remote sensing and fieldwork techniques.

He stays in Heidelberg six months (05.02.-05.08.15) starting his PhD at the Heidelberg University with Prof. Dr. Alexander Siegmund as doctorate supervisor. Camilo is developing the thesis “Modelling coastal stratocumulus clouds - past, present and future of potential fog water resources under climate change at the northern coast of Chile” as part of a joint research between Universidad Católica and Heidelberg University of Education in the Atacama desert.

Prof. Dr. Alexander Siegmund nahm am 11.02.2015 an der 2. Beiratssitzung des Projekts PIKEE (PIK Environmental Education) am Potsdam Institut für Klimafolgenforschung teil. Neben den Projekt- und anderen Beiratsmitgliedern – u.a. von der Deutschen  Bundesstiftung Umwelt und der Senatsverwaltung für Bildung, Jugend und Wissenschaft Berlin – nahmen an der Sitzung auch Vertreter des Bundesministeriums für Umwelt und Bau, der Eduversum GmbH („Lehreronline“) sowie der Leitung des PIK teil. Das PIKEE-Projekt kooperiert mit dem ReKli:B-Projekt der Abteilung Geographie an der Pädagogischen Hochschule Heidelberg.

Gustavo Nieto is a PhD candidate from Barcelona, Spain. His academic backgrounds are Geography and Teaching, with focus on GIS. As a part of his thesis' fieldwork, he stays from 22.01. - 24.07.2014 at the Heidelberg University of Education to observe the Secondary School teachers' practice with GIS in Germany. 

Im Rahmen eines Lehrgangs „Das Klima Mitteleuropas mit dem Schwerpunkt Deutschland/Bayern: Aspekte der Umsetzung des Themas im Geographieunterricht“ an der Akademie für Lehrerfortbildung und Personalführung in Dillingen hat Prof. Dr. Siegmund am 20. und 21.01.2015 zwei Kurse zu aktuellen Aspekten des Klimawandels und der Klimaanpassung sowie deren Umsetzung im Unterricht gehalten.
