ZuL:noBi - Learning (for) the future in non-formal education
Development and implementation of a blended learning concept for ESD training for multipliers in non-formal education in Baden-Württemberg
Silke Bell, Prof. Dr. Alexander Siegmund
Educational stakeholders in non-formal education in Baden-Württemberg are trained to align their educational offerings with the methodological and content-related principles of Education for Sustainable Development. The training is based on an alternation of analog and digital modules, in which the focus is on planning, implementing and reflecting on one's own ESD offers and in which the implementation of one's own educational offers is presented and tested by the participants.
The continuing education series "Learning (for) the future in non-formal education" combines face-to-face modules with digital learning units.
The face-to-face modules follow the three-step approach "Plan - implement - reflect on ESD offerings". In them, participants reflect on their educational offerings, delve into the methods and principles of ESD in detail and critically examine their own role and attitude as ESD multipliers. The focus is on the question: "What makes my educational offer an ESD offer?" The modules shed light on methodological and didactic implementation, the importance of values and attitudes, the role of the teachers themselves and, finally, the political framework and limits of ESD and their own educational offerings.
Educational stakeholders participating in the qualification can themselves take responsibility for individual modules in the series as co-design partners; educational locations in Baden-Württemberg are included in the qualification as non-institutional learning locations.
The adaptive learning platform "zukunftlernen.jetzt" is available for the digital learning units and covers a wide range of SD and ESD topics. The platform has basic modules on sustainable development, ESD and the UN's Sustainable Development Goals, as well as topic-specific modules and examples of methodological applications. Asynchronous learning units, in which participants can choose from modules depending on their personal level of knowledge and individual priorities, alternate with synchronous digital modules that serve to exchange and deepen what they have learned.
The target group of the further education course are those involved in non-formal education. In addition to individual and institutional further qualification, the aim is to further develop the methodological and didactic aspects of their own educational offers in the non-formal sector in accordance with the methodological and content-related principles of education for sustainable development.
